Barton C. Williams is a SAG-AFTRA actor, action performer, and presenter based in Chicago, Illinois. Adopted from Saigon, Vietnam, Barton was raised in Adelaide, South Australia, where the great outdoors and the performing arts featured prominently in his early life. Barton made his first film appearance at the tender age of eight in a South Australian Film Corporation production titled Come to the Library. It wasn’t until adulthood that he formally trained as an actor in Sydney, New South Wales, studying at the Actors College of Theatre and Television (ACTT) and the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).
Barton has numerous television, film, and theatre credits spanning the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Some of his notable screen appearances include Chicago’s acclaimed drama series “Chicago Med”, Australia’s iconic soap “Home and Away”, the blockbuster “The Meg” starring Jason Statham, “Bodyguard” with Richard Madden, “Black Narcissus” with Gemma Arterton, and Scottish director Johnny Barrington’s film “Silent Roar”.
In theatre, Barton has toured Wales in the United Kingdom with the West Midlands Children’s Theatre performing the pantomime “Old King Cole”. He has also appeared throughout Sydney’s independent theatre scene in productions including “Deadtime” at Redfern’s 107 Project, “How to Lose Sight” at Parramatta’s Riverside Theatres, and “A Quiet Night in Rangoon” at Newtown Theatre. More recently, Barton wrote and performed in the production “Fragile: Handle with Care” at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe in South Australia—a poignant historical account of adoptees from the Vietnam War. The year prior, at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland, he also wrote and performed his theatre production “Precious Cargo”.
Barton brings a unique range of action skills developed through his background in competitive sport. He was a national-level barefoot water skier, a former surf lifesaver, pogo stick riding enthusiast and mental health advocate. In addition, Barton has extensive background experience and training with firearms for film and television.
A versatile performer, Barton has also built a career in media presenting, serving as a key presenter for SERCO training in the United Kingdom and for Coles Australia’s VR training programs. He is also a published author of two children’s picture books: Angry Mangry and But What Are You?
When Barton is not performing on stage or screen, he enjoys; running, writing, pogo stick riding, open-water swimming, social surfing, mountain biking, and spending time outdoors with his four-legged “fur-son,” ‘River’—a therapy dog with Canine Therapy Corps.
